Carl L. Hofmann, was born on September 1, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Carl L. and Madolin Hofmann (nee Siegel), and left this world on October 1, 2024 at the age of 90. Carl was the devoted husband of 60 years to the late Mary Alice Hofmann (nee Kleinberg), whose memory he cherished until his final days. Together, they created a beautiful family, and his legacy continues through his 3 sons: Mike (Michelle), Rick (Linda) and Dan (Carla) Hofmann.
Carl touched the lives of many throughout his journey and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him especially his 9 grandchildren: Scott (Megan), Kelly (Jay), Cassie, Chris, Karly, Brett, Matt, Justin and Caitlin. Carl was also great grandfather to Austin, Ryder, Kennadie, Brody, Emmalyn and Landen. Carl was blessed to be the brother-in-law to Albert and LaVerne Kleinberg, the late Paul and Elaine (living) Kleinberg, late Carl and Carol Moertle, and late Nancy Kleinberg.
Carl had a long and successful career working for the David J. Joseph company. Upon retirement Carl and Mary Alice moved to Florida calling Indian Rocks Beach home for many years and eventually returned to their family home on the west side to be closer to family.
You could say Carl had a passion for the Christmas holiday which brought him immense joy and he took great pride in his enormous collection of holiday decorations and his treasured Santa Claus collection. Their home would transform into a winter wonderland, a place where love and laughter thrived and where friends and family would gather to celebrate and enjoy dozens and dozens of homemade cookies. In addition to Christmas Carl enjoyed ceramics, going so far as pouring and firing his own molds and holding ceramics classes in his house. Carl was heavily involved in his wife’s Avon business and would happily drive her around to deliver products to their many customers. He leaves behind a collection of memories that will forever keep his spirit alive in the hearts of those he loved.
Carl spent his final years living at Terrace View Gardens where he displayed his great sense of humor, endearing him to everyone he met. He will be fondly remembered as one of the kindest and sweetest residents.
