Charles "Chuck" Ausman

Charles “Chuck” Ausman, 68 passed suddenly on November 24th, 2020.  He was the devoted husband of  Linda Ausman (nee Erb).  Loving father of Lieutenant Colonel Charles David Ausman (Jessi) nee Mohler Ausman & Lynne (Scott) Riehle.  Cherished grandfather of Charles “Jameson” Ausman, William Ausman, Samson Ausman, David “Owen” Ausman,  Karalyn Riehle and Thomas Riehle.  Preceded in death by his parents Charles W. and Estelle Mae (Kipp) Ausman and son in law of Maralynn (McDowell) Dunlap and the late Richard L. Erb.  Dear brother of Christine and James Grabenstetter, Linda and Wayne Bach, Robert and Lisa Faulhaber, and brother in law of Richard and Lynne Erb, James and Marja Erb, David and Linda Erb, Thomas and Ellen Klofta, Kevin and Joyce Harrod and Michael and Nancy Steveley.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Chuck was a 1970 graduate of Colerain High School and a Colerain Ping Pong champion in 1970. In 1975 he completed a Bachelor of Science at The Ohio State University. He married Linda Erb on June 21, 1980. From 1975 - 2008 he was a beloved and respected science teacher and Varsity Soccer Coach in the Oak Hills Local School District.  After retirement, he helped with soccer stats at Walnut Hills and Indian Hill High Schools.  The last two years he has been JV and assistant Varsity Soccer Coach at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.  Chuck was very involved in The Leadership and Ethics Seminar presented to select high school students sponsored by the West Point Society of Greater Cincinnati.  He was also a very proud member of The West Point Field Force and so enjoyed his contacts with candidates to the academy.  He was an active member and served as an Elder of the Peace Lutheran Church. 

 

Family and friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday evening from 4 – 8pm at Peace Lutheran Church 1451 Ebenezer Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233. PRIVATE  FAMILY ONLY services will occur Thursday; guests can view the service via Livestream on the funeral home’s Facebook page or by clicking the link below.  Masks are required and in accordance with Covid restrictions, guests will have to maintain social distancing and will want to dress accordingly, as capacity is limited in the fellowship hall and outside waiting is a possibility.
