Charles Douglas "Chuck" Kyle, 77, of West Chester, OH and formerly of Highland Heights, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Chuck grew up in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He attended Highlands High School, where he played football and also won a state diving championship. Chuck accepted a football scholarship from Purdue University. He was an All-Big Ten Player in 1965, 1967 and 1968. Chuck was also a consensus first-team selection as a middle guard on the 1968 College Football All-American Team. He was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (125th overall) of the 1969 NFL draft. Later that year, Chuck signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He appeared in 6 games and played in the 57th Grey Cup. In 1971, Chuck played in 12 games and registered 2 interceptions. On June 9, 1971, he was traded to the Montreal Alouettes, and on February 5, 1972, he was signed as a free agent by the New York Jets. Chuck had a successful sales and marketing career after he retired from football.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Shirley Kyle and brother, Roger Kyle. Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara (nee. Jaeger) Kyle; daughter, Lori Bargayo; grandchildren, Sterling and Ailani Bargayo; brother, Steve (Amy) Kyle and sisters, Leslie (Mary) and Marsha Kyle. Dear friend of Richard "Doug" (Jill) Partin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Luke's Community Church (1191 Devil's Backbone Road, Cincinnati, OH 45233) on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow the service at Noon.
