Eleanor Diers

Eleanor "Elle" (nee Gromen) of Green Township, 93, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009. She was surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Nelson C. Diers. Elle was active in the Senior Olympics, having earned over 180 medals. She is in the Ohio Senior Olympic Hall of Fame. She was a devoted mother to Judith (David) Urton and Dr. Nelson R. (Sara Wayne) Diers, loving grandmother to Mark (Holly) Urton, Michael (Beth) Urton, Michelle (Ricky) Simpson, Dr. Tiffiny (Dr. Fernando Martinez) Diers, Nelson Todd Diers and Ashley Diers, also survived by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her spirit will be missed by all. Elle was active in her church and is resting in peace with the Lord. Mrs. Diers was generous enough to donate her body to the UC Medical College. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday (2-7-09) at St. Peter & St. Paul United Church of Christ.
