Jack R, age 88, passed away suddenly on March 17, 2010. He was the loving and beloved husband of Dorothy for 61 years, loving and beloved father of Scott (of Potomac, Maryland) and Gail Johnson (of Denver Colorado), of daughter-in-law Carol Butcher and son-in-law George Johnson, and of four granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren. Born July 21, 1921, his life was lived in giving - as devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend of countless others. Jack was an Elder, Trustee and Deacon of Westwood First Presbyterian Church, and an active member of Cheviot/Westwood Kiwanis, where he enjoyed friendship and service. A WWII veteran of 3 1/2 years in U.S. Army Air Corps, Jack was deployed on Tinian Island in the Pacific supporting B-29 operations. He was a graduate of Western Hills High School, where he was a star quarterback. After the war, Jack received a business degree from the University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He subsequently worked as an accountant for Proctor & Gamble for 36 years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at Westwood First Presbyterian Church Friday, March 26, with visitation 3:00 - 4:00 p.m, followed by the service and a reception.
