James "Jim" Durrell Jr

James E. Jr. "Jim", beloved husband of Elizabeth Durrell (Nee Newcomer), dear brother of Virginia deRohan, uncle of David Putman Osborn and Peter Durrell Osborn, great uncle of Lucy, Ellie, Eric and Stefaine Osborn, also survived by his loving pets. Jim was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School, Harvard University, with an advance degree from Ohio University. Taught at Rochester Institute of Technology of New York, a life long resident of Cincinnati, loved the outdoors especially Northern Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Crystal Lake. He was an active member of the Miami Group, Sierra Club. Jim passed suddenly Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Age 77 years, while hiking in the Smoky Mountains surrounded by his wife and good friends. Visitation 4:30 PM Monday followed by a 6:30 PM Funeral Service at Westwood First Presbyterian Church, 3011 Harrison Ave., Westwood.
