John Jr., devoted son of Rita Filgis-Abbas and the late John Filgis Sr., caring husband of Marilyn Filgis (nee Bales), loyal father of Timmiera (Dale) Lawrence, Scot (Kristy) Filgis, Carrie (Kier) Hodas and Jodie (Bruce) Thomas, exceptional grandfather of E.S., Anna, Lydia, Laurel, Sophie, John and Sam, , dear brother of Peg Newberry, Debbie Fredrick and the late Bette Adams. John was a retired Cincinnati Firefighter and will be remembered as a friend by everyone he met. Suddenly, September 25, 2010. Age 64 years. Friends are invited to a celebration of his life Saturday, 11 AM, at the Harvest Baptist Church, 5541 Cleves Warsaw Pike, Cincinnati, OH, 45238. Memorials may be made to Cincinnati Firefighters Local #48 Memorial Fund, 1011 W. 8th St., Cincinnati, OH, 45203. Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home serving the family.
