Lillian Musch

MUSCH,
Lillian, passed, Saturday, June 12, 2010. Age 94 years. Former employee of McAlpin's/Dillard's Department Store. Friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday from 10 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11 AM at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Avenue, 45238.

Just about everyone that knew Lillian probably met her through McAlpin's or Dillard's over the past 20+ years. She was the hardest working cleaning lady that the Western Hills store ever had. Her friends can always remember her as a self-taught artist. She had a God given gift of painting. She could close her eyes, imagine a place that she wanted to be and transpose it to her canvas with each stoke of color. Each of her paints is truly amazing with detail and brilliancy. She even brought her art work to her very own clothing line. If she had a stain on her shirt that she couldn't get out, she would simply paint something beautiful right over it.

Lil was a strong hardworking woman even up to her final hours. She spent the days before painting her basement steps. For living a hard life, you would never know it when you met her. She embraced every day and everyone around her.

The nicest kind of day is one that's filled with thoughts of someone special. That kind of day was when we were with Lil or when she was in our thoughts. She was that "Someone Special."

She was a delight to be with. For her 94 years, she was young at heart and full of life and energy. Although last year she broke her hip, Lil didn't let that keep her down. She worked hard every day to get back on her feet and back home to her house from the Western Hills Retirement Center. Lil had overcome lots of hardships in her life and this was just one more. She was determined it would not keep her down.

In January of 2010, she had emergency bowl surgery and she came through that and wanted to get her independence back. Although her friends were happy to do anything for her, she wanted to feel and do as her old self.

We were concerned that she would go down to the basement and this made us anxious for her safety. When she felt the time was right, she went down by herself and did well. You had to admire her determination. Loving to do things for herself, she enjoyed being able to go out to eat and shop.

The one passion she had was painting and this helped her being alone and brought lots of attention from friends to doctors and nurses. She would paint pictures for people she worked with and they were special to each one. The paintings are a blessing to those who have received on and will bring blessed memories of her now.

The best friends can change a frown into a smile when you feel down.
The best friends will understand you little trials and lend a hand.
The best friends will always share your secret dreams because they care.
The best friends are worth more than gold, give the love a heart can hold.
Sadly missed till we meet again.
