Margaret “Maggie” Jeanne Malloy
September 9, 1939 – July 3, 2017
Margaret Jeanne “Maggie” Malloy (née Casey) passed away on July 3 after a
brief illness. She was 77 years old.
Maggie was the devoted wife of 45 years to the late Captain Charles J. “Tally”
Malloy, Jr., USN. She will be greatly missed by her family, including her sons
Charlie, Matt, Jake and Phil, her sisters Ann Proctor, Cathy Barnett and Liz
Schieffer, her brother Mike Casey, and her 9 grandchildren and 2 great-
grandchildren. Maggie will also be remembered fondly by her many dear friends,
including her companion John Van Kirk, who helped make her last years so
delightful.
Maggie graduated from Libertyville High School and Seton Hill College. She was
a navy wife for over thirty years, accompanying her husband to duty stations
around the world while raising four boys. She had an accomplished business
career, culminating in management positions with Jackson Hewitt and Cendant
Corporation. Maggie had a graceful and active retirement, first in
Sarasota and then in Cincinnati.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 11:00 on
Thursday, July 13, at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2944 Erie Ave,
Cincinnati. Maggie will be interred at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery,
alongside her late husband.
Memorial donations in memory of Maggie may be made to UC Memory Disorders
Center Fund.
