RADEL, Marian, a beloved and devoted daughter, granddaughter, wife, mom and grandma, died Sunday morning, August 2. This life-long West Sider faithfully served as a caregiver to five generations of her family, starting with her grandparents. She enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as an accomplished baker, cook, storyteller, singer, gardener and writer. She took great pleasure in being a fan of music, dancing, fine arts, family history, the latest news, the Cincinnati Reds, The Cincinnati Enquirer and life. She also possessed the gift of making everyone she ever met feel so at ease they willingly told her their life story. Proud to be a homemaker, she relished preparing feasts from scratch. She filled her home with love, a gentleness of spirit and a sense wonder and joy. She took pride in selflessly helping others enjoy the simple things in life. Her spirit touched the lives of friends around the world. Marian is survived by her son, Cliff (Debbie) Radel, and daughter, Lori (Mark) Roush, and granddaughter Heather Roush as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff, the love of her life. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Ed and Norma (nee Doll) Glashien, and her siblings, Lorna Joos, Ed Glashien and Orletta Schaller. A long-time member of Western Hills High School's Tu Phi Sorority, Marian also spent many years writing as columnist "Flash" Radel for the Cheviot United Methodist Church's bulletin. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at the Dalbert, Woodruff and Isenogle Funeral Home, 2880 Boudinot Avenue, Westwood. Marian's love of life will be celebrated during an 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, service at the funeral home. Following the service, interment takes place at the Bridgetown Cemetery.
