Mary Rose Ackerman (nee Vetter) passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 in the arms of her loving husband Mark and with her two favorite daughters, Julie and Holly by her side.
She was born in Cincinnati on August 15, 1950 to the late Robert Edwin Vetter and Rosemary Otilia Vetter (nee Schell).
Mary was wed to Mark Ackerman on June 1, 1973 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1977 they moved to Islamorada, Florida where she, Mark, and brother Jim took over the family business “Bob’s Dry Cleaners.” After also working in insurance and retiring In 2005, they moved to Gainesville, Florida to be closer to their daughters.
Fondly known as Sister Mary Martini, Nanny New Knee, or Wo-Wo, she had a silly sense of humor and a most beautiful heart. She loved shopping, dancing in the car, playing air drums, shopping, crispy pastry crusts, and shopping. Most of all, she loved her family, grandchildren, and maltese Wilson.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Albert “Butch” Vetter and Robert “Bobby” Vetter. She is survived by siblings William “Bill” Vetter, Josephine Ann “JoAnn” Langmeier, Vivian Carmical, James “Jim” Vetter, Christopher “Chris” Vetter, Teresa “Teri” Downard, Gerard “Jerry” Vetter, Patricia “Patty” Berkel, Thomas “Tommy” Vetter, Husband Mark Raymond Ackerman, Daughter Holly Nichol Scorpio, Son-in-Law Domenic Emilio Scorpio, granddaughters Emiliana Nichol Scorpio, Ave Rosemary Scorpio, & Siena Lisette Scorpio, daughter Julia April Moderie, Son-in-Law Brian Scott Moderie, granddaughter Everly Rose Moderie, and grandson Parker Raymond Moderie.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation Saturday, October 1st from 10:00AM until time of the Blessing Service at 12:00PM. All services will be at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home (2880 Boudinot Ave.)
