Mary E. Joseph

Mary E. Joseph, 80, of Western Hills, died Wednesday the 9^th of April at University Hospital of Cincinnati. She was born to the late Abraham and Soraya Simaan December 22, 1933 in Tyre Lebanon. She graduated from The Lebanon Evangelical Girls Academy and received an Associate Degree in English Education from Beirut University. For several years she taught English to children attending the Exon Mobile American Private School. She married Emil Joseph in 1960 and they lived in San Francisco, California before relocating to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1963.

Mary worked for the State of Ohio as a Regional Supervisor until she retired in 2000. For more than 20 years she was an active member of the Westwood Baptist Church (Faith Fellowship Church) and later became a member of First Baptist Church of Dent. Mary was a consummate mother and homemaker, an excellent cook, and enjoyed making meals for her family and friends. She was also an avid gardener, with her favorite plants being tomatoes and roses of all varieties.

Mary is survived by two sons, one daughter in law, and three grandchildren.  Sons: Richard Joseph and his son Issac of Cincinnati, Ohio; George Joseph, MD. of Dallas, Texas  ,his wife and two daughters Carolyna and Isabella. She is also survived by three sisters; Jenette (Nigel) Wilkinson and Elias (Marion) Simaan both of Peoria, Illinois: Afaf (Talib) and Farida (Bryan) Drever both of Birmingham, England.

The family will receive friends with a viewing and a Funeral service to follow celebrating her life on Sunday April 13, 2014 from 1 to 3 pm at First Baptist Church of Dent, 6384 Harrison Ave. Cincinnati, Ohio 45247. A Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday April 14, 2014 10 AM at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45232.
