Paul R. Kaucher, Jr.

Paul R. Kaucher, Jr., a cherished member of the Cincinnati community, passed away on April 8, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 71. Born on July 30, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Paul Sr. and Ann (Poehner) Kaucher, who both preceded him in death.  Paul led a life filled with dedication, love, and passion for both his work and family.

Paul was a Senior Environmental Safety Specialist for the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD), where he contributed his knowledge and expertise to the community. He held a master’s degree that underpinned his commitment to ensuring environmental safety. His career was marked by a profound sense of responsibility and diligence, characteristics that endeared him to colleagues and friends alike.

Beyond his professional achievements, Paul was a family man who relished spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his step-daughter, Amy Johnson (Larry), and his grandchildren: LJ Johnson (Katie), Cameron Johnson (Caroline), Alexa Johnson (Luke Bolden), and Blake Johnson (Serenna Wilmes). They were a source of great joy for him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A devoted brother and uncle, Paul is also remembered by his siblings: Maryann Miller, Barbara Kaetzel, Carol Kaucher, Tom Kaucher (Kelley), and Gerard Kaucher. Paul was also preceded in death by his sister, Kate (Kaucher) Stiles (Dave).  His relationships with them were a testament to his caring nature, and the bond shared amongst them was a significant part of his identity.

Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dianne L. Kaucher, with whom he shared many wonderful years of companionship. Her passing left a void in his life that was felt deeply by all who knew him.

In addition to his work and family, Paul had a variety of interests that enriched his life. He had a keen eye for photography, capturing moments that would otherwise fade, and had a lifelong dedication to the Cincinnati Reds, making him a true local sports enthusiast. He also enjoyed staying active and worked out at Mercy Healthplex, contributing to his well-being.

To honor Paul’s life and legacy, a visitation will be held on April 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by a prayer service at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home located at 2880 Boudinot Ave., Cincinnati, OH, 45238.

Paul R. Kaucher, Jr. will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched. His memory will live on through the lives of his family, friends, and the contributions he made to his community.
