Cheeseman, Robert L., Sr., slipped gently into that good night on August 21, 2007, at the age of 88. A beloved and revered husband, father, grandfather, educator, mentor and church leader, he is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marion L. (nee Armbruster); three sons, Robert L. Jr. (Ginger), Terrence K. (Mary Sue) and K. Michael; five grandchildren, T. Kent Jr. (Caroline), Lori E. (Dr. Martin) Woodard, Aimee L. (James) Crowley, Kate and Ann Cheeseman; and nine great-grandchildren, Heather Gragg, Tyler, Austin and Morgan Woodard, Dravin and Madalyn Adams and Samuel, William and Jack Cheeseman. Bob served his country with valor and distinction as a World War II Naval officer. Wounded off Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion, he was awarded the Purple Heart and numerous combat medals. After the war, he served his community for thirty years as a science teacher and administrator with Cincinnati Public Schools retiring in 1975 from Walnut Hills High School. He was also a founding member and pillar of the church, St. Peter & St. Paul UCC in Westwood. Bob's deep and abiding love of family, friends, neighbors, student, colleagues, country and church will long be remembered and cherished. A private graveside service has been held, but a celebration of his life will take place at St. Peter and St. Paul UCC, Queen City and Ferguson Roads, on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at 2 PM.
