Robert L. Cheeseman, Sr

Cheeseman, Robert L., Sr., slipped gently into that good night on August 21, 2007, at the age of 88. Bob served his country with valor and distinction as a World War II Naval officer. Wounded off Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion, he was awarded the Purple Heart and numerous combat medals. After the war, he served his community for thirty years as a science teacher and administrator with Cincinnati Public Schools retiring in 1975 from Walnut Hills High School. He was also a founding member and pillar of the church, St. Peter & St. Paul UCC in Westwood. Bob's deep and abiding love of family, friends, neighbors, student, colleagues, country and church will long be remembered and cherished. A private graveside service has been held, but a celebration of his life will take place at St. Peter and St. Paul UCC, Queen City and Ferguson Roads, on Sunday, August 26, 2007, at 2 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter & St. Paul UCC, 3001 Queen City Avenue, 45238; the Walnut Hills High School Development Office, 3250 Victory Pkwy, 45207; or Hospice of Cincinnati, PO Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH, 45263-3597.
